Proven engineering experience in complex wastewater, concentrate management and advanced industrial treatment, providing a practical foundation for future PFAS applications.

Landfill Leachate wastewater

Landfill Leachate wastewater

UV based concentrate treatment experience

Project scope

Mixed NF, RO and DTRO membrane concentrate from landfill leachate, 300 tonnes per day.

UV role

UV based advanced treatment was integrated after upstream conditioning to support further polishing of high strength concentrate streams.

Key outcomes

  • COD ≤ 50 mg L-1
  • BOD5 ≤ 10 mg L-1
  • NH3 N ≤ 5 mg L-1
  • TN ≤ 30 mg L-1

PFAS relevance

Landfill leachate membrane concentrate is a key residual stream where PFAS may accumulate. This project demonstrates HEMA's capability in concentrate management, UV integrated treatment and complex matrix control.

Food wastewater

Food wastewater

UV based organic concentrate treatment experience

Project scope

Food waste digestate membrane concentrate, 180 tonnes per day.

UV role

UV based advanced treatment was integrated after upstream conditioning to support polishing of high strength organic concentrate streams.

Key outcomes

  • COD ≤ 5 mg L-1
  • BOD5 ≤ 10 mg L-1
  • NH3 N ≤ 0.5 mg L-1
  • TN ≤ 5 mg L-1

PFAS relevance

Food waste membrane concentrate represents a complex organic residual stream where persistent contaminants may coexist with high COD, salts and variable matrices. This project demonstrates HEMA's capability in organic concentrate treatment, UV integrated polishing and stable operation.
